Dear Senator Specter: We Don't Want You Anyway!

I am glad you have followed your conscience—however corrupted it might be—and joined the Democrat Party—however corrupted it might be.

You have sold out Conservative principles for a long time now, Senator. In your heart of hearts were you ever a Conservative? You argue that you vote to represent your constituents, hence you are a populist and a coward—not a leader. So what do you stand for? It appears that you stand for very little but political expediency. In all fairness, you have been right on some issues, even as of late; but when the game has been on the line—so many times when our backs have been against the wall—you have let us down. You have turned your back on us. You have sold us out.

Today you mentioned the "big tent" of Reagan Conservatism that you were in when you got elected in 1980. You claim that the Republicans have moved too far right to accommodate a “moderate” like yourself. If you were truthful you would say how you rode the wave of Reagan's landslide right into office and how you now you seek to use Obama's political capital to further your career. Reagan's principles are obviously very different from your philosophy, Senator. You fooled a lot of people, but as of late your true colors have started to show.

I must correct you on this point, Senator--President Reagan's tent was big because he reached out to many who believed in the fundamentals of Conservatism. Prior to him, the Republicans did not make near the effort he did to reach out to and welcome such people into the party. Reagan spent the better part of two decades changing the core values of the Republican Party and reaching out to those who had similar values. Ronald Reagan was a leader.

The aforementioned tent also had a big fence around it—kind of like the big fence that your Congress and the President were supposed to build on our southern border. Liberals were not welcomed in for a long time, but the fence around the Republican Party has been breached by many of the likes of you. The “Conservative ICE” was coming for you and you got scared...Admit It! We Conservatives were planning on unseating you in a primary next year anyway. Now we all know how scared you are, but no matter, we will defeat you in the general election just as well.

Enjoy your last 18 months in office.

Biggest Liar - 1

Contestant #1 - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi

Thank you San Francisco! Losers

This morning the Drudge Report linked to two stories about a nice little 180 by the Madame Speaker. In 2002, she was briefed on water-boarding interrogation techniques and apparently had no objection at all to the use of such methods for extracting information from detainees in US detention facilities.

Yesterday she said "In that or any other briefing…we were not, and I repeat, were not told that waterboarding or any of these other enhanced interrogation techniques were used. What they did tell us is that they had some legislative counsel ... opinions that they could be used."

Well maybe her memory about the matter is a little blurry, after all, Mr. Libby's was. But it is hard to give this woman the benefit of the doubt. Truly she is few rocks shy of a load, but if you are as dumb as she is you don't get to be Speaker of the House unless you can really wheel and deal with the best of 'em. When you hear her speak it is not surprising she is such a blatant liar. She moves back and forth between shrill and determined ideologue, and I don't think either one of those egos would have a problem being outright deceitful to advance the cause of big government.

So stay tuned for the next installment of Biggest Liar to find out which other politicians are so dishonest they make a used car salesman and an auto mechanic look like a boy scout and a priest.

Make Up Your Mind

I just read this article: Air pollution helps plants blunt climate change

Apparently, pollution particles in the atmosphere help plants to process CO2 more efficiently. This means that reducing pollution will in effect increase CO2 levels.

So now the question is, do we really want clean air? And if we do, then how will it affect CO2 levels?

We all want clean air to breath, so now the environmentalists have another reason to continue pushing for stricter regulation of CO2 emission. (All environmentalists should do the benevolent thing and stop breathing for 1 day: starting at 9am tomorrow! - call it: Save the world in 86,000 seconds...)

The sick thing is, all of this is based on a LIE - the FALSE notion that mankind's production of CO2 has an impact on the earth's climate -pretty darn arrogant if you ask me, but I guess no one asked me.
